At the Scottish Kitcar Centre, we specialise in preparing imported vehicles for UK road use. Whether it’s a rare classic, a kit car from abroad, or a performance vehicle, we’ll handle the necessary modifications and guide you through the registration process — making it as smooth and hassle-free as possible.

What We Can Do for You:

Initial Inspection
We assess your vehicle to identify any areas that need to be brought up to UK standards.

✅ Lighting & Electrical Modifications
Adjustments to headlamps, indicators, fog lights, and wiring to meet UK requirements.

✅ Speedometer Conversion
Converting or replacing your speedometer to show MPH (if required).

✅ Emissions & Noise Compliance
Upgrades or adjustments to meet DVSA emissions and noise regulations.

✅ VIN & Chassis Checks
Ensure your Vehicle Identification Number meets DVLA standards and is correctly located.

✅ IVA Test Preparation (if applicable)
We’ll get your vehicle ready for the Individual Vehicle Approval test if required.

✅ DVLA First Registration Assistance
We handle all the paperwork to get your UK registration, including age verification and number plates.

Our IVA Services

Initial Pre-IVA Inspection  £295 plus VAT
A full mechanical and compliance check to identify any potential IVA failures.

 

IVA Test Assistance  £550 plus VAT
We take your vehicle to the IVA test station and walk it through the test, working with DVSA inspectors on your behalf.
**This fee does not include transport of your vehicle from our workshop to the test centre.

Registration & Number Plates  £240 plus VAT
We complete the DVLA first registration paperwork and supply and fit brand-new number plates.
**Road tax and DVLA registration fee not included.
